With more jobs going online, information being readily available online, it means that quite a lot of jobs can be done online remotely.
What this means is that people who have a much lower cost of living in third world countries will have a lot more jobs than people in first world countries.
Moreover, with the export of foreign labour, more countries are relying on foreign workers who can accept a lower pay only because their cost of living back home is much lower.
Where does this leave citizens of first world countries? Slavery in the making perhaps? Doomed to return to 3rd world civilisation?
